Along with the dynamic development of society, the role of women in various fields is also increasingly visible. However, the stereotypes inherent in society regarding women remain obstacles for women in their activities, such as discrimination against women's rights. This case of discrimination against women has become an international concern, resulting in violence against women. The high rate of violence against women which cannot be overcome independently has invited reactions from several international institutions, which one is the United Nation Entity For Gender Equality And The Empowerment Of Women (UNWOMEN). UN Women is an United Nations entity that works for gender equality and the empowerment of women. A country that has a high rate of discrimination is the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). It was noted that 52% of women in the DRC were survivors of domestic violence and 39% of Congolese women reported have been threatened or injured. 27% of women in the DRC are victims of harmful traditional practices. The existence of UN Women as an international organization that covers issues related to violence and oppression perpetrated against women certainly has its own role. In this research, descriptive qualitative methods was used to explain the role of UN Women in overcoming discrimination against women in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2019-2021 by referring to the theory forward by Clive Archer, UN Women as an international organization has 3 main roles in dealing with this discrimination against women case in the DRC, which are instrument, arena and independent actor.
