The presence of cockroaches in areas around residential areas can cause psychological stress, allergic reactions, and trigger asthma attacks as a result of the presence of allergens in feces. One way to overcome the presence of cockroaches is to overcome it with the bioinsecticide of kecombrang flowers (Etlingera elatior (Jack) R.M.Sm) which contains poison for Turkish cockroaches. The aim of this research is to determine the secondary metabolite compounds of kecombrang flower extract, the concentration of kecombrang flower extract which influences behavior, morphology and mortality as well as the lethal concentration value of 50% (LC50) from combrang flower extract as a bioinsecticide for Turkish cockroaches. The research was carried out at the Genetics and Biotechnology Laboratory, and the Animal Biosystematics Laboratory, Biology Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Sriwijaya University, October to December 2023. Using a completely randomized design with treatment of kecombrang flower extract, namely 5%, 15%, 25%, 35 % as well as positive control baygon 1% and negative control distilled water. The parameters observed were behavior, morphology and mortality. Data analysis using linear regression,ANOVA and further test Duncan. The results of the study showed that kecombrang flower extract had an effect on Turkish cockroach changes in behavior, morphology and mortality, with success rates reaching 29% at 1 hour and 66% at 24 hours of treatment, as well as LC50 at 24 hours of treatment, namely 4.466% in the toxic category. Kecombrang flower extract contains secondary metabolite compounds in the form of tannins, steroids, terpenoids and flavonoids which are toxic to Turkish cockroaches, and the most influential concentration is 35%.
