ASUHAN KEPERAWATAN PADA PASIEN DENGAN GANGGUAN PERSEPSI SENSORI: HALUSINASI PENDENGARAN DENGAN TERAPI THOUGHT STOPPING DI RS ERNALDI BAHAR PROVINSI SUMATERA SELATAN
Background: Hallucinations are a symptom of a mental disorder in which the client experiences changes in sensory perception, feels false sensations in the form of sound, sight, taste, touch or smell. The impact that can be caused by a client who experiences hallucinations is to lose control over himself. The main factor that can reduce the level of auditory hallucinations is through pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy. Thought Stopping Therapy is a non-pharmacological therapy that can be used to eliminate unproductive thoughts and make them more adaptive. Method: Qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach to 3 sensory perception disorder patients: auditory hallucinations. Results: The three clients were able to do thought stopping therapy as they had been taught to control the hallucinations they experienced. The clients became more cooperative, happy, had eye contact, and did not appear to be talking to themselves following the hallucinations. Discussion: Thought stopping is a technique used to heal self-destructive negative thoughts by saying “STOP” and changing negative thoughts to positive ones. Thought stopping equips clients with skills to be able to instruct themselves (stop swap committing) to stop negative thoughts through stimulation or a surprise stimulus.
