STIGMATISASI MAHASISWA NON PAPUA TERHADAP MAHASISWA PAPUA DI UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA KAMPUS INDRALAYA
Papuan students at Sriwijaya University are stigmatized by non-Papuan students. Stigma occurs because of the views given by non-Papuan students towards Papuan students. The object of this research is non-Papuan students who have met the criteria that researchers determine and are studied using Erving Goffman's stigma theory. This study aims to determine the stigma process given by non-Papuan students to Papuan students. This study also aims to determine the form of stigma received by Papuan students. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with a case study method. The technique of determining informants is done by purposive method, there are eight main informants, five non-Papuan students and three Papuan students. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The result of this study is that stigma comes from the assessment of non-Papuan students based on daily activities with Papuan students which can be interpreted as stigma. Cultural differences make Papuan students find it difficult to socialize and make Papuan students have different physical characteristics. However, over time Papuan students can blend in with non-Papuan students. The form of stigma given to Papuan students is divided into non-Papuan students' conversation material and receiving ridicule. Keywords: Stigma, Papuan Students, Forms of Stigma
