KOMUNIKASI INTERPERSONAL BARISTA STARBUCKS RAJAWALI PALEMBANG
In this study, it discusses how the interpersonal communication process is carried out by Starbucks Rajawali Palembang baristas with customers. This study uses John Thibault and Harold Kelley's social exchange theory with a descriptive qualitative method. Data was collected through the results of in-depth interviews with informants. The results showed that interpersonal communication activities carried out by Starbucks Rajawali Palembang baristas had a strong motivation to get rewards in their social relationships with customers. Even though there are several factors that are detrimental to both parties, the losses obtained have a smaller scale than the rewards. This makes social exchange through interpersonal communication activities that occur in a satisfactory and stable status so that it has a positive final value, where the barista and the customer choose to stay in the relationship. Therefore, to achieve social exchange through maximum interpersonal activity, baristas and customers must know and determine what rewards are expected and the standards that determine the satisfaction and stability of their social relationships. In addition, the intensity of interpersonal communication between Starbucks Rajawali Palembang baristas and customers will also help sustain existing social relationships so that they last a long time.
