This research aims to find out the format of organic waste processing project learning using maggot caterpillars (Hermetia illucens Linnaeus) on environmental change material and the effect on the level of environmental literacy of students. The method used in this research is Pre-Experimental Design with One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design model. The research sample was selected using Purposive Sampling technique as many as 46 students. The data obtained in this study were in the form of pretest and posttest scores of environmental literacy of students consisting of knowledge, attitude, and behavior domains. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, and t-test and descriptive statistical analysis in each aspect. The results showed that the learning project of organic waste processing using maggot caterpillars had an insignificant effect on the value of environmental literacy. Of the three domains tested, project learning has a significant effect on the knowledge domain and has no significant effect on the attitude and behavior domain. This research has shortcomings in the form of a small sample size and significant learning effects only in the knowledge domain, it is hoped that further research will be carried out with a larger sample size and accompanied by other learning methods that maximize the improvement of environmental literacy in the attitude and behavior domain.
