This research aimed to determine the effect of Project Based Learning-based climate change mitigation learning through food waste utilization on student's awareness. This research is a quantitative Pre-experimental research with One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The subjects in this study were 34 students of IX graders of SMP Negeri 1 Talang Kelapa Banyuasin. This research was conducted by providing Project Based Learning-based climate change mitigation learning through the utilization of food waste, food waste used are shrimp shells waste and waste cooking oil. This research was started by distributing awareness questionnaires before learning and questionnaires were distributed again after the learning was completed. The results showed a significant change in the level of awareness of students from previously in the medium category to the high category. With a Sig value. (2 tailed) 0.00 less than 0.05 which means H1 is accepted, there is a significant influence related to project-based learning of climate change mitigation through the utilization of food waste on students' awareness.
