UJI DIAGNOSTIK COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY (CT) SCAN) KEPALA DIBANDINGKAN DENGAN HISTOPATOLOGI DALAM MEDIAGNOSIS RETINOBLASTOMA
Background: Retinoblastoma is the most common type of eye cancer in children. Computed tomography (CT) scan is commonly used in Indonesian hospitals as imaging approach for diagnosing retinoblastoma. This research aims to test the diagnostic ability of head CT scan relative to histopathology in diagnosing retinoblastoma di RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang between 2020—2022. Method: The research is designed as a cross-sectional, observational diagnostic test. The sample is collected through consecutive sampling according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. The data being used is secondary data from medical records. Results: Ten medical records of retinoblastoma patients in RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang through 2020—2022 are collected. The general characteristics of the patients are dominated by two-years old (median), males (70%), right eye lateralization (60%), and leukocoria as the main clinical sign (80%). In terms of detecting optical nerve invasion on retinoblastoma patients, computed tomography (CT) scan scored 33,3% for sensitivity, 57,1% for specificity, 25,0% for positive predictive value, 66,7% for negative predictive value, 77,8% for positive likelihood ratio, 116,7% for negative likelihood ratio, and 50,0% for accuracy. Conclusion: Computed tomography (CT) scan is not recommended for diagnosing optical nerve invasion in retinoblastoma patients. Further investigation is required to explore the diagnostic ability of CT scan in terms of retinoblastoma diagnosis. A pilot study should be conducted to improve this particular research.
