HUBUNGAN STUNTING DENGAN ERUPSI GIGI MOLAR PERTAMA PERMANEN PADA ANAK DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS 1 ULU PALEMBANG
Background: Malnutrition in Indonesia is a health problem that has not yet been fully addressed one of which is stunting. Stunting is a risk factor that can cause disturbances in tooth development, including tooth eruption. Objective: To determine the relationship between stunting and the eruption of permanent first molars in children at Puskesmas 1 Ulu Palembang Working Area. Method: This research was an analytical observational study with a cross sectional approach in the work area of Puskesmas 1 Ulu Palembang. The research was conducted on 33 children who stunted based on medical records from 2018 to 2021 who are currently aged 5-7 years in the working area of Puskesmas 1 Ulu using analytical (infrecial) analysis uses Chi-square statistics. Results: The majority of respondents were male, namely 19 people (58%) and aged 6 years, namely 15 people (46%), 26 (79%) were short stunted children and 7 (21%) were very short stunted children, 15 respondents experienced molar eruption and 18 others had not experienced molar eruption. There is no significant relationship between stunting and the eruption of permanent first molars in children (p=0.560). Conclusion: There is no significant relationship between stunting and the eruption of permanent first molars in children at Puskesmas 1 Ulu Palembang Working Area.
