This study aims to investigate the dragonfly community structure (Order: Odonata) in oil palm plantations in the Tebing Tinggi District, Empat Lawang Regency, and its contribution to high school biology learning. The research method used was a survey method with purposive sampling to identify dragonfly species in the oil palm plantations. The results show that there are 11 dragonfly species belonging to four families in the oil palm plantations. The most commonly found dragonfly is Orthetrum sabina, while the least common is Libellago lineata. The dragonfly diversity index falls into the moderate category, the evenness index falls into the high category, and the dominance index is low. The collected dragonflies in this study demonstrate high diversity in the oil palm plantations of the Tebing Tinggi District, Empat Lawang Regency. The implications of these findings can be utilized in high school biology learning to understand the community structure and role of dragonflies in the oil palm plantation ecosystem. Suggestions for further research include examining the ecological factors influencing dragonfly species in the area.
