The aim of this research is to determine the level of parental attachment, the level of student independence and the relationship between parental attachment and the independence of migrant students at the Bumi Raflesia Student Association, Sriwijaya University. This research uses a correlational quantitative approach, the instrument used is a questionnaire, the population in this research is 142 students using random sampling techniques with a sample size of 37 students. It was found that the highest level of parental attachment was in the medium category with a percentage of 70,3%, the highest level of student independence wa in the medium category with a percentage of 67,6% and the product moment hypotesis test had a positive relationship with a csignificance value of 0,000 the correlational value has a strong relationship with a ciefficient value of 0,650, the dominant communication sub-variable has a stronger relationship with a independence than other sub-variables, students are expected to be able to establish good communication with parents so as to create a strong attachment between parents and children.
