The aim of this research is to describe the intrinsic elements of poetry in the student book Tema Cita-Citaku Class IV SD. The type of research used is qualitative with descriptive methods. The data collection technique is documentation. The data in this research are seven intrinsic elements of poetry. The data source in this research is fourteen poems contained in the book Tema Cita-Citaku Class IV SD. The results of this research are the number of intrinsic elements contained in the fourteen poems Tema My Aspirations are as follows: 1) theme with a very good description, (2) imagery with a very good description, (3) diction with a very good information, (4) typography with a very good information, (5) figure of speech with a very good information, (6) rhyme with a very good information, (7) message with a very good description. Teachers can read and understand the intrinsic elements of poetry so they can explain it well to students.
