The purpose of this research is to describe the communicative functions of expressive speech acts. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The data in this research is in the form of dialog - dialog in the film Sepatu Dahlan by Benni Setiawan. The data collection techniques used in this research are watching and writing techniques, while the data analysis method uses the commensurate method. Based on the assessment that has been done, there are six functions of expressive speech acts, namely the communicative function of saying thank you to express a sense of pleasure when receiving something, congratulating and praising to express an appreciation for the achievements of speech partners, apologizing to express feelings of guilt, condolences and sympathy to express pity and concern, expressing anger to express dislike for the treatment of speech partners, and the act of saying greetings and greetings to express happiness in meeting speech partners. Research can be implied in Indonesian language learning, namely drama or movies. Drama material is contained in the Advanced Indonesian Language and Literature Learning Book for SMA class XI, the Merdeka curriculum in phase F, and the elements of reading and viewing, the Learning Outcomes of speaking and presenting, through which students can present the results of the analysis of the dialogue in the drama or film, teaching modules for analyzing dialogue in drama or film and LKPD.
