This study examines the problem of whether the use of outdoor study learning methods can increase student learning motivation during Civics learning at SMP Negeri 2 Muara Telang, The research method used in this research is qualitative research method using descriptive research design. In this study, the data collection used is documentation, observation and interviews. This study aims to describe the use of the Outdoor Study learning method in increasing student learning motivation at SMPN 2 Muara Telang. The results of this study indicate that the use of outdoor study learning methods in increasing student learning motivation in Civics subjects at SMP Negeri 2 Muara Telang is categorized as very good with an average percentage of 86.11%, meaning that the use of outdoor study methods can increase student motivation so that it can produce a maximum learning process. Where out of 20 students have a high level of learning motivation with a vulnerable value (86 - 100%), then 8 students have a good level of learning motivation with a vulnerable value (71 - 85%), and there are 4 students who have a fairly good level of learning motivation (56 -70%), and 1 student who has a poor level of motivation with a vulnerable value (≤55%). In this study it is recommended for further researchers to be able to expand the number of research subjects, and teachers as educators should be able to direct students in order to maintain students' learning motivation.
