This research aims to determine the effect of colored sand media on the beginning writing abilities of children aged (4-5) years in KB Al Fatih, Mulia Agung Village, Banyuasin III District. This research method uses a pre-experimental quantitative method with a one-group pre-test and post-test design. The sampling technique used purposive sampling technique, namely 10 children aged 4-5 years at Al Fatih KB. The data collection technique uses a structured observation sheet in the form of a checklist with data analysis techniques, namely the normality test using the chi square formula and hypothesis testing using the paired t-test sample. From the calculation results, tcount is 3.54 and ttable is 1.83, tcount> ttable, so there is an influence of colored sand media on the beginning writing ability of children aged (4-5) years in KB Al Fatih, Mulia Agung Village, Banyuasin III District.
