This study aims to (1) identify the types of synesthesia, (2) analyze the function of synesthesia, and (3) analyze the implications of synesthesia in Tere Liye's novel Bumi and Bulan on Indonesian learning. This research is a qualitative descriptive research with a method of collecting content analysis data or content analysis. The data obtained was sourced from the novel Bumi and the novel Bulan by Tere Liye published by Gramedia Pustaka Utama in 2014 and 2015. The data contained in this study are language units with sentence levels that contain synesthesia. The results of the analysis contained 45 data from novel Bumi consisting of 5 different types of sensory response exchange. In the novel Bulan there are 25 data with 7 types of exchange of sensory responses. This research has implications for Indonesian learning for phase F, namely SMA/SMK/MA equivalent to class XII with material analyzing the content and language of novels arranged in the form of modules and worksheets of students.
