PERBANDINGAN KEKUATAN IKAT GESER RESIN KOMPOSIT PADA DENTIN MENGGUNAKAN BONDING UNIVERSAL ADHESIVE (Mode Total Etch dan Self Etch)(Literature Review)
Background: Bonding of restorative materials to dentin structure is more difficult to achieve than to the enamel structure. Bonding Universal Adhesive is the latest and most interesting innovation in bonding agents which can be applied in various techniques, especially total etch and self etch. Shear bond strength is one way of testing materials, especially assessing the adhesion of composite resin as a restorative material to tooth structure, in this case dentin. The aim of this literature is to determine the comparison of the shear bond strength of composite resin on dentin using bonding universal adhesive with total etch and self etch techniques. Methods: The type of research carried out was a literature review study which was analyzed qualitatively using PubMed and Google Scholar data for the last 5 years which was adjusted to the inclusion and exclusion criteria and continued with a bias assessment using CRIS (Checklist for Reporting In-vitro Studies). Results: This study succeeded in synthesizing 20 experimental in vitro with the results of 12 low bias journals and 8 high bias journals. Six journals state that the total etch technique has a greater shear bond strength to dentin than the self etch technique. Four journals stated that self etch technique was greater than total etch technique. Five Journals stated that there was no significant difference, thus recommending self etch technique. Five other journals stated that there were differences in research results based on bonding universal adhesive trademarks. Conclusion: The shear bond strength of composite resin on dentin using bonding universal adhesive in self-etch technique is greater than total etch technique.
