This study aims to determine the effect of flannel board media on children's beginning reading skills in group B at Kartika II-1 Palembang Kindergarten. This study uses a type of pre-experiment research with a one shot case study design. The sampling technique used a purposive sample, namely class B5 which totalled 16 children. Data collection techniques using observation and documentation. Data analysis techniques using normality test and T-test. The results of data analysis using T-test obtained t_count value of 2.90 and t_table 1.75. Then the t_count value of 2.90 ≥ t_table 1.75 so that from the calculation results it is stated that H_0 is rejected and H_a is accepted. So it can be concluded that there is an effect of flannel board media on the ability to read the beginnings of group B children at TK Kartika II-1 Palembang.
