SOLASI SENYAWA METABOLIT SEKUNDER TURUNAN FENOLIK DARI FRAKSI ETIL ASETAT BATANG MURBEI PUTIII (Morus alba L.)
Morus alba L. is a plant from Moraceae family which is found in tropical and subtropical areas. M. alba plant was reported to have displayed several bioactivities such as antioxidant, antitumor, antibacterial, anticancer, antidiabetic, and anti-inflammatory. M. alba plant has a diversity of secondary metabolites. This research was aimed to isolate and identify secondary metabolite compounds from ethyl acetate fraction of M. alba stem. The isolation process was done using maceration method with methanol as the solvent. The methanol crude extract was partitioned using liquid-liquid partition with n-hexane and ethyl acetate. Ethyl acetate fraction was separated by several chromatography techniques such as vacuum liquid chromatography, radial chromatography, flash column chromatography, and sephadex gravitation (LH-20). Identification of isolated compounds was carried out based on UV and NMR spectroscopic data (1H-NMR and TOCSY). The isolated compound was a reddish brown solid (4.5 mg).The UV spectra shows that the isolated compound was a phenolic compound without the ortho-dihydroxy groups because there was no bathochromic shift affect due to the addition of the AlCl3. 1H-NMR spectrum showed the presence of 2 aromatic ring units and 1 trans-vinyllic unit. Based on these data, the isolated compound was (E)-4-(3,5-dihydroxylstyryl)benzene-1,3-diol or oxyresvaratrol. This compound was a stilbene and had been reported previously from the ethyl acetate fraction of M. alba stem.
