Background: Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is a malignancy that occurs in the nasopharyngeal region (the area above the throat and behind the nose). In Indonesia alone, based on data sourced from Global Burden of Cancer Study (GLOBOCAN), new cases of KNF in 2020 amounted to 19,943 cases with a mortality rate of 13,399 cases. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients who received a combination chemotherapy regimen of carboplatin and docetaxel at ENT-HN clinic RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. Methods: This study is an observational descriptive study. Samples were taken using secondary data, namely from the medical records of nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients who received a combination chemotherapy regimen of carboplatin and docetaxel at the ENT-HN clinic of RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang during 2022. Sampling in this study was taken with total sampling technique. Results: The number of samples in this study were 50 patients. The results of this study showed that patients with characteristics of nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients who received a combination chemotherapy regimen of carboplatin and docetaxel at ENT-HN clinic RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang were mostly male, as many as 64%, with the highest age group in the range of 38-47 years and 48-57 years, both of which were 36%. Most patients had the main complaint of weakness, as many as 38%. The histopathologic type of undifferentiated carcinoma was the most common, at 52%. Stage IVA was the most common stage, as many as 38%. Based on the type of chemotherapy, the combination of carboplatin and docetaxel was used most as neoadjuvant chemotherapy, as many as 72% with the most chemotherapy response ECOG score 1, which was 78%. Conclusion: Patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma who received a combination chemotherapy regimen of carboplatin and docetaxel at the ENT-BKL Clinic of Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Hospital were mostly male, with the most age groups in the age range of 38-47 years and 48-57 years. Weakness was mostly complained by patients during the last chemotherapy series. Histopathologic type undifferentiated carcinoma and stage IVA were the most common. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy type and chemotherapy response with ECOG score I were most common in this study. Keywords: nasopharyngeal carcinoma, characteristics, chemotherapy, carboplatin, docetaxel.
