This research is a research and development (Research and Development) using the Alessi and Trollip development model (2001: 210). This study aims to (1) describe the results of the needs analysis of students and teachers regarding the Sparkol VideoScribe Based Learning Media on Learning to Understand Fable Texts of Students in Grade VII SMP Negeri 2 Palembang, (2) produce a product design for the development of Sparkol VideoScribe Based Learning Media on Learning to Understand Fable Texts of Students in Grade VII SMP Negeri 2 Palembang, (3) describe the results of the feasibility test of expert validation of the development of Sparkol VideoScribe Based Learning Media on Learning to Understand Fable Texts of Students in Grade VII SMP Negeri 2 Palembang. Data collection techniques in this study were observation, interview, needs analysis questionnaire, and feasibility test. The development of this media based on the results of the needs analysis provides a conclusion that teachers and students need Sparkol VideoScribe Based Learning Media on Learning to Understand Fable Text for Students in Grade VII SMP Negeri 2 Palembang. The validation assessment (Feasibility Test) was carried out on three aspects, namely material, language, and media. The three assessments showed the results that the media was feasible to use and tested with a note of revising according to the validator's suggestions. The results showed that the development of Sparkol VideoScribe-based learning media was effective in improving students' understanding of fable text. There was a significant increase in students' comprehension scores after using the learning media. In addition, students' responses to the use of this media were generally positive, indicating that the media can motivate and increase students' interest in learning fable text.
