UJI AKTIVITAS ANTIDEPRESAN EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN SUKUN (Artocarpus altilis) TERHADAP MENCIT (Mus musculus)
Breadfruit leaves (Artocarpus altilis) contain flavonoids and quercetin which are thought to have potential as antidepressants. This study aims to determine the effect and know the best concentration of ethanol extract of breadfruit leaves as an antidepressant. Parameters observed include immobility time, number of line crossings, length of time mice fall, amount of sucrose consumption, and changes in body weight. The 30 test animals used were divided into 6 groups, namely, the normal group was given NaCMC 0.5% without induction of acute stress, the negative group NaCMC 0.5% induced acute stress, the positive group was given fluoxetine 20 mg, and treatment groups I, II, and III were given ethyl acetate extract of breadfruit leaves at doses of 100, 200, 400 mg/kg BW respectively. Mice were treated in each group for 35 days. Measurements of forced swimming test, tail suspension test, traction test, and locomotor parameters were carried out on days 1, 7, and 14. While body weight measurements were taken on days 0, 5, 10, 15, 20 and measurement of the amount of sucrose drunk. The results showed that ethanol extract of breadfruit leaves has antidepressant activity in stress-induced mice (p
