UJI TOKSISITAS SUBKRONIS EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN JENGKOL (Archidendron jiringa) PADA TIKUS PUTIH GALUR WISTAR
Jengkol (Archidendron jiringa) is one of the medicinal plants that can be used as traditional medicine. The ethanol extract content of jengkol leaves is reported to have many pharmacological activities such as anti-inflammatory, anti-hyperuricemia, anti-hyperlipidemia and immunostimulant. However, the level of safety of using this plant is not yet known. This study aims to determine the nature of subchronic toxicity of ethanol extract of jengkol leaves against white rats (Rattus norvegicus) Wistar strain. Testing was carried out during 28 days of administration of the preparation to observe toxicity effects in mice. This study used 25 male rats and 25 female rats, each of which was divided into 5 groups consisting of 1 control group given 0.5% Na CMC, and 4 treatment groups with doses of 100 mg/kgBW, 200 mg/kgBW, 400 mg/kgBW, and 800 mg/kgBW. Evaluation is carried out by observing liver, kidney and heart indices as well as examining blood hematology, biochemistry and macroscopic parameters of the liver, kidney and heart. The results showed that examination of blood hematological levels (hemoglobin, erythrocytes, leukocytes and hematocrit) and blood biochemical levels (SGOT, SGPT, Creatinine, Ureum, and Glucose) were still within normal limits, except at a dose of 800 mg/kgBW which had high levels which exceeds the normal limit for each parameter and has a significant difference (
