INTERPRETASI DATA LOG DAN ANALISIS KUALITAS BATUBARA BERDASARKAN PARAMETER MOISTURE, TOTAL SULPHUR, CALORIFIC VALUE, ASH CONTENT, VOLATILE MATTER DAN FIXED CARBON (STUDI KASUS: DESA KEBAN - ULAK LEBAR, KABUPATEN LAHAT, SUMATERA SELATAN)
The quality of coal is a physical and chemical property of coal that can affect its potential value and utility. Determination of coal quality can be identified using well logging methods by considering several parameters such as moisture, total sulphur, calorific value, ash content, volatile matter, and fixed carbon. A case study in Keban Village - Ulak Lebar, Lahat District, South Sumatra aimed to analyze lithology identification results, assess coal layer quality, and determine coal types based on ASTM classification using data from PR-34 well including gamma ray and density logs, and coal quality data based on proximate coal analysis. Four lithology types were found in the PR-34 well in the research area: sandstone, claystone, mudstone, and coal, with varying depths and average gamma ray values (CPS). The quality of the coal layers, as seen from each parameter in the research area, is considered good and falls into the medium to high-quality range. Based on ASTM classification with a calorific value ranging from 11500 – 13000 Btu/lb, the coal in the research area falls into the bituminous coal type
