The aim of this research was to determine the mathematical literacy abilities of class VIII students at SMP Srijaya Negara Palembang. To determine students' abilities, test questions are used in the context of everyday life. The research method used is descriptive with a quantitative approach. This research was carried out at SMP Srijaya Negara Palembang class VIII involving 30 students as subjects in this research. The data collection technique uses 3 written test questions and interviews. After students have completed 3 mathematical literacy test questions, an interview is then conducted to find out more deeply what is meant by the answers given by students. Next, the data results from the answers given by students are analyzed and calculated using mathematical statistical division formulas. So the results of this research show that students' mathematical literacy skills in working on the test questions given are good. In this research, assessments are also assessed through existing indicators, starting from formulating mathematical problems, applying conceptual skills, facts, procedures and mathematical reasoning, then by interpreting and using mathematics and evaluating the answer. The results obtained were the average mathematical literacy ability of class VIII students at SMP Srijaya Negara Palembang according to the indicator 43.81 which was included in the good category.
