PENGEMBANGAN E-SKALA UNTUK MENGUKUR INTENSITAS SIBLING RIVALRY PADA REMAJA
Sibling rivalry is a competition between siblings to get more attention from their parents. Sibling rivalry often occurs within families and can have a negative effect on relationships between siblings. There are already measuring instruments in the form of conventional scales, or scales in manual form. Therefore, development is needed by utilizing technology to determine this intensity. This research aims to develop a measuring instrument in the form of an E-Scale and validate it on children who experience sibling rivalry. The research method used is research development (Research Development). The research procedure used by researchers is an idea from Lee et al., (Heppner, 2008), consisting of 1) Conceptualizing and operating the construct of interest, 2) Carrying out a literature review, 3) Creating items, indicators and response formats, 4) Carrying out content analysis and pilot testing, revision, and item management, 5) Sampling and data collection, 6) Translating and re-explaining the scale, and 7) Conducting factor analysis, item completion, and testing the scale's psychometric properties. The results of the analysis obtained through needs analysis are that the intensity of sibling rivalry is at a high level with a percentage of 50% (7 out of 14 students). This shows that the school needs a measuring tool to measure the intensity of sibling rivalry. Thus, a measuring instrument was developed in the form of an E-Scale which was valid with a value of r_count > r_tabel, reliable with a value of 0.785 in the high reliability category, and a practicality test with a percentage value of 88% in the very practical category. Keywords: E-Scale, Sibling rivalry, Students.
