Human development is a symbol of a country's progress, if a country's development is only seen from its total domestic income and is not committed to improving human development, it cannot be said to be successful. The high budget spent by the government on the education and health sectors is not in line with economic growth in each country. This study aims to determine the effect between government spending on the education sector, the health sector and economic growth on the Human Development Index (HDI) in South Sumatra in 2013-2022. The method used is the Random Effect Model (REM) panel data method. The results show that simultaneously, Government Expenditure in the Education Sector, Health Sector and Economic Growth has a significant effect on the Human Development Index (HDI) in South Sumatra. Partially, Government Expenditure in the Education Sector has a positive and significant effect on the Human Development Index and Government Expenditure in the Health Sector and Economic Growth have an insignificant effect with a negative relationship on the Human Development Index.
