The purpose of this research are 1) to describe a profile of farmer’s child labor force and the existing job potential in Muara Rungga Village, 2) to find out what are the factors that affect the interest of farmer’s child to continue paddy farming in Muara Rungga Village, 3) analyze the perception of farmer’s child to continue paddy farming in Muara Rungga Village. Data collection was carried out in Februari 2020 at Muara Rungga Village Pasemah Air keruh Subdistric Empat Lawang Regency South Sumatera. The sampling method used in this research was simple random sampling. The number of samples taken was 35 paddy farming. The results showed that the workforce seen from productive age farmer's child was 54.28 percent and non-work force was 45.72 percent. Potential job fields include farmers, household industry, merchants, ranchers, health services, education services, and driver. Factors affecting interest of farmer’s child to continue paddy farming significantly are factor in age and education. Factors do not significantly affect are land area, income, and the number of household members. Perceptions of farmer’s child to continue paddy farming consist of 5 indicators obtaining a total score of 55,03 with the criteria of less interest.
