Background: Osteoarthritis is a degenerative disease of the joints. Common complaints that cause knee osteoarthritis patients to come for treatment are pain, stiffness, and limited physical function. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of knee osteoarthritis patients who are taking rehabilitation programs at the Medical Rehabilitation Installation of Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Hospital Palembang. Method: This study is a descriptive observational study based on primary data. The population of this study were knee osteoarthritis patients who are taking a medical rehabilitation program at the Medical Rehabilitation Installation of Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Hospital Palembang from October to November 2023. Result: There were 68 samples that met the inclusion criteria. The sociodemographic characteristics of patients were dominated by women (85.3%). the largest age group was ≥ 60 years as many as 41 people (60.3%). The distribution of patients based on occupation was dominated by domestic workers, 36 people (52.9%). The most common comorbid disease was hypertension, as many as 30 patients (44.1%). A total of 37 patients (54.4%) had a history of trauma or joint injury. The majority of patients had a moderate womac score index, namely 39 patients (57.4%). The type of therapy most chosen by patients is TENS therapy, namely 54 patients (79.4%). Conclusion: There are characteristics based on gender, age, occupation, history of comorbid diseases, history of trauma or joint injury, womac score, and choice of therapy in patients with knee osteoarthritis undergoing a rehabilitation program at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Hospital Palembang.
