PENGUJIAN KINERJA MEA DENGAN KATALIS Pt-Co/C DAN Pt/C PADA PEMFC DENGAN LAJU ALIR GAS HIDROGEN YANG BERVARIASI
The performance testing of a Membrane Electrode Assembly (MEA) with Pt-Co/C catalysts in a Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) under varying hydrogen gas flow rates has been conducted. The MEA consists of electrodes comprising an anode and a cathode involving Pt/C and Pt-Co/C catalysts. The electrodes were characterized using X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), and electrochemical property analyses employing the Cyclic Voltammetry (CV) and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) methods. Additionally, MEA performance was evaluated based on I-V and I-P curves with the influence of varying hydrogen gas flow rates at 100, 200, 300, and 400 mL/minute. XRD characterization results revealed diffraction peaks for PTFE at 2θ = 18.9°, Pt at 2θ = 40.79°, cobalt at 2θ = 42.9°, carbon at 2θ = 26.674° and 2θ = 54.3°, with SEM results indicating the percentage composition of each element in the Pt-Co/C catalyst on the electrode as follows C 39.6% wt, Co 18.5% wt, and Pt 39.2% wt. Analysis results showed a Specific Surface Area (ECSA) of 0.7236 m2/g for Pt-Co/C and 1.133 m2/g for Pt/C, while the conductivity values were 13.07 x 10-3 S/cm for Pt-Co/C and 10.48 x 10-3 S/cm for Pt/C. The maximum MEA performance was achieved at a flow rate of 100 mL/minute, with a power density of 3.4 mW/cm2 at a current density of 8.461 mA/cm2
