UJI AKTIVITAS ANTIOKSIDAN FRAKSI DAN EKSTRAK BUNGA KERTAS UNGU (Bougainvillea spectabilis) MENGGUNAKAN METODE DPPH, FRAP DAN FTC
Bugenville purple flower (B.spectabilis) is a traditional medicinal plant which can generally be used to cure diseases such as coughs, diabetes, digestive disorders and wounds. This research aims to determine the results of antioxidant activity tests of several methods on crude fractions and extracts using the DPPH, FRAP and FTC methods. This research began with fractionation using fractions in the form of n-hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol as well as crude total methanol extract. The results on total phenolic content showed 42,28 mgGAE/g and total flavonoid content 23,92 mgQE/g. The DPPH antioxidant activity test showed that the IC50 value was the greatest in the ethyl fraction at 63,446 mg/L which was classified as strong. The FRAP method antioxidant activity test showed that the methanol extract had the greatest reduction power of 114,7 mg/L Fe2+. The FTC method antioxidant activity test showed that the percent inhibition of fat peroxidation was the highest in the ethyl acetate fraction at 50,69%. Based on the data results, it can be concluded that purple paper flower (B. spectabilis) using the DPPH and FTC methods has the highest antioxidant activity in the ethyl acetate fraction which is proportional to the phenolic content. Meanwhile, the FRAP method is highest in the total methanol extract which is thought to contain non-phenolics contributing to reducing Fe3+ to Fe2+
