PENGARUH KONSENTRASI TAWAS DAN WAKTU PROSES PADA PENGOLAHAN AIR LIMBAH TEKSTIL SONGKET MENGGUNAKAN METODE ELEKTROKOAGULASI
This research aims to determine the effect of alum concentration and processing time on reducing pH levels, TSS (Total Suspended Solid), COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) and color substance, as well as determining reaction kinetics in songket textile wastewater treatment using electrocoagulation using aluminum electrodes. The concentration of alum was varied in textile wastewater by 3 variations (1 ppm, 2 ppm, and 4 ppm) and the process time by 3 variations (30 minutes, 60 minutes, and 90 minutes) with a constant current strength of 10 amperes. Analysis of TSS levels was carried out gravimetrically, analysis of COD levels was carried out spectrophotometrically using UV-Visible and dye analysis is carried out directly using spectrophotometri UV-Visible. The results of the analysis of diversity (ANOVA) at the 5% level showed that the treatment with variations in alum concentration and the time of the electrocoagulation process had a significant effect on reducing the pH, TSS, COD and dye values. Treatment at alum concentrations of 4, 2, and 2 ppm with a processing time of 60 minutes had the highest efficiency in reducing TSS, COD, and dye levels respectively at 88%; 70%; and 86%. Analysis of the average chemical kinetics of the reduction in pH, TSS, COD, and color substance that the electrocoagulation process sequentially follows the zero, seconf, first, first order model reaction kinetics with a reaction rate constant (k) of 3.11 x 10-2 mol.minute-1; 1 x 10-4 mol-1minute-1; 1.86 x 10-2.minute-1, and 2.67 x 10-2 minute-1..
