Background: Osteoarthritis (OA) is a prevalent degenerative joint ailment that primarily affects knee joints, causing pain, stiffness, and limited mobility. In Indonesia and globally, knee OA accounts for the majority of OA cases, impacting nearly 80%. Numerous systemic and local factors contribute to this condition. This study explores the characteristics of knee OA patients at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital from January to December 2022. Methods: Employing a cross-sectional design, this descriptive observational study examined medical records of knee pain patients diagnosed with osteoarthritis at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital in Palembang, meeting inclusion criteria and selected using total sampling technique. Results: Findings revealed that 57.5% of patients had knee OA. Predominantly, these patients were aged ≥ 60 years (60.8%), female (77.7%), and housewives (49.2%). Additionally, 37.7% were overweight. Most patients exhibited no varus or valgus deformities (76.9%) and experienced symptoms in both knees (61.5%).
