IDENTIFIKASI JENIS DAN KELIMPAHAN MIKROPLASTIK PADA RAJUNGAN (Portunus pelagicus) HASIL TANGKAPAN NELAYAN SUNGSANG KABUPATEN BANYUASIN SUMATERA SELATAN
Plastic is an object with a high level of use in society and most of its use is single use only. Plastic that floats and settles in water will be degraded into smaller particles called microplastics. The very small size of microplastics means that microplastics are often considered food by marine biota, one of which is the blue swimming crab (Portunus pelagicus). Microplastics that accumulate in the body's biota can disrupt growth rates due to exposure to toxic plastic addictive substances. This study aims to reveal microplastics and identify the type and size in crabs. The crab samples were obtained from fishermen's catches in Sungsang 4 Village, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra. The discovery of microplastics was carried out using an Olympus CX33 microscope. The results of this study show that the abundance of microplastics found in young crabs was 27.7 particles/individual with a percentage of 40,36% and in adult crabs it was 40.2 particles/individual with a percentage of 59,64%. The types of microplastics identified in this study consisted of films (149 particles), fragments (119 particles), and fibers (69 particles), with a microplastic particle size range of 40.8 to 1811.2 µm.
