JENIS DAN KELIMPAHAN MIKROPLASTIK PADA AIR DAN IKAN KERAPU MACAN (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus) DI PERAIRAN PULAU ENGGANO
Plastic waste in the waters can have an impact on ecosystems in marine and coastal waters. Plastic waste will degrade into microplastics. Microplastics can enter the digestive tract of fish and cause changes in fish metabolic processes, disrupt the immune system of fish and have the potential to contaminate humans who eat them. This study aims to analyze the types, characteristics and abundance of microplastics in water and fish. This research was conducted in September 2023 in Enggano Island Waters. Identification of microplastic types using binocular microscope and identification of microplastic polymer types using FT-IR (Fourier Transform Infrared) method. The types of microplastics obtained in water and fish samples on Enggano Island are fiber (64 particles), fragments (116 particles), films (486 particles) and pellets (52 particles). The color of microplastics obtained from water and fish samples are; black, blue, red, green (in fish not found), white, transparent, beige and brown. The types of microplastic polymers found include; LDPE (Low-density polyethylene), nylon, ABS (Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene), Latex, PET (Polyethylene terephthalate), HDPE (High-density polyethylene), EVA (Ethylene vinyl acetate), PMMA (Poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA or acrylic), PC (Polycarbonate), PVC (Polyvinyl chloride), PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene), PS (Polystyrene), and PP (Polypropylene)
