PREPARASI ELEKTRODA Sno2/C UNTUK DETEKSI METANOL DENGAN ELEKTROLIT Na2SO4
This research was about SnO2/C electrode preparation to detect methanol using the electrochemical sensor method. In this research the process of making SnO2/C electrode ink was prepared by spraying method. SnO2 electrodes, vulcan carbon, polyaniline, and isopropanol mixed and sprayed onto the surface of the aluminium plate. The performance of the SnO2/C electrode was tested by using cyclic voltammetry and linear sweep voltammetry. The voltammogram curve shows the occurrence of redox reactions at the SnO2/C electrode, having oxidation peak of 0.5339 V and a reduction peak of 0.4899 V. Cyclic voltammetry measurements of the SnO2/C electrode were conducted in the potential range of 0.9 V to -1.5 V and scan rate 0.05 V/s with 2 M Na2SO4 electrolyte and 10 mL 20% methanol. Voltammogram with linear sweep voltammetry measurements shows different oxidation peaks between potential range 0 V to -1.5 V and a scan rate of 0.025 V/s. The methanol percentage were 1%; 2%; 3%; 4%; 5%; 6%; 7%; 8%; 9%; 10%. The SnO2/C electrode was characterized using XRD and SEM. The diffraction pattern shows 7 diffraction peaks at 2θ angles of 26.80°, 34.14°, 38.73°, 45.004°, 52.04°, 65.392°, and 78.45° with a crystallite size of 22 nm. SEM characterization of SnO2/C electrodes with a magnification level at 5,000 times, shows surface morphology in the form of grains of varying sizes and contains holes with a size of 1-10 µm.
