SINTESIS CaO/PDA DAN APLIKASINYA PADA ADSORPSI ZAT WARNA METILEN BIRU
Adsorption of methylene blue dye using CaO and CaO/PDA adsorbents has been carried out. The CaO source used was obtained from quail egg shell powder by calcining at a temperature of 1000°C for 6 hours. CaO/PDA synthesis was made with a ratio of 15:1. The results obtained were characterized using XRD, BET, FTIR. The diffractrogam peaks resulting from XRD CaO characterization show similarities with JCPDS data No. 82-1690 and the XRD diffractogram result of Ca(OH)2 characterization show similarities with JCPDS No. 84-1266. The results of BET characterization show the surface area CaO 0.332 m2 /g and the surface area CaO/PDA was 18.349 m2 /g. The IR spectrum of CaO and CaO/PDA before adsorption show ed the of the functional groups O-H, C-H, C-O, O-C-O, Ca-O and in CaO/PDA after adsorption the aromatic C=C from methylene blue dye and N-H from polydopamine. CaO and CaO/PDA have pHpzc at pH 11.841 and 12.116. Optimum conditions for CaO at concentration 300 mg/L with contact time of 60 minutes at temperature of 60°C obtained adsorption capacity of 79.891 mg/g. Optimum conditions for CaO/PDA at concentration of 350 mg/L with contact time of 75 minutes at temperature of 70°C it was obtained adsorption capacity of 103.107 mg/g. The kinetic model occurs in pseudo second order. The isotherm model CaO and CaO/PDA shows the Freundlich and Langmuir isotherms. thermodynamic parameter show that the adsorption process occurs ed exothermically CaO at temperatures of 60°C, 70°C and 80°C and on CaO/PDA from temperatures of 25°C, 30°C, 40°C, 50°C, 60°C, 70°C and 80°.
