PENERAPAN PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS COMPUTATIONAL THINKING PADA MATA PELAJARAN MATEMATIKA MATERI BILANGAN BULAT KELAS VII
Computational thinking is one of the abilities that can improve mathematical problem solving skills. Computational thinking is included in the PISA 2021 framework which aims to improve mathematical problem solving and reasoning skills. Computational thinking in learning is integrated as an approach that contains logical reasoning in formulating and solving problems in a structured and systematic manner. However, in reality computational thinking is still very rarely applied in learning in Indonesia. Therefore, this study aims to describe the application of computational thinking-based mathematics learning on grade VII integer material based on indicators of decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithm. The subjects in this study were 28 students of class VII of SMP Negeri 54 Palembang which was conducted in the odd semester of the 2023/2024 school year. The data collection techniques used in the study were observation, tests, interviews and questionnaires. The results revealed that students' computational thinking ability was in the moderate category with 32.14% of students able to decompose problems, 42.86% of students could recognize patterns, concepts and materials and relate them to the problems given. 46.86% of students are able to abstract the problem by sorting out important information that can be used in solving the problem, and 35.71% of students can complete the problem solving algorithm.
