OPTIMASI PATCH TRANSDERMAL EKSTRAK KULIT MANGGIS (Garcinia mangostana L.) TERPURIFIKASI 90% ALFA MANGOSTIN DENGAN VARIASI KONSENTRASI POLIMER KITOSAN – HPMC
Wounds or damage to part of the body tissue if not treated immediately will cause infection and even death. Plants that can help the wound healing process include alpha mangostin compounds from mangosteen skin (Garcinia mangostana L.). Optimization of active substance delivery is carried out in the form of transdermal patch preparations. This study aims to obtain the optimum formula for transdermal patch preparation on wound healing activity. Transdermal patch preparations of mangosteen peel extract purified 90% alpha mangosteen were formulated with a combination of variations in chitosan and HPMC concentrations using DesignExpert software with a factorial design method 22. The optimum formula results obtained a concentration of 1% chitosan and 2% HPMC. The optimum formula produced weight uniformity of 29 mg, pH of 6.4, film thickness of 0.072, folding resistance of 667 times, elongation of 11%, drying shrinkage of 3.45 mg, and swelling of 916.08%. The optimum formula has an organoleptic form of light yellow, transparent, and elastic. The results of the content uniformity test were 100.0007%, and the organoleptic was good after the stability test with the resulting content in the 6th cycle of 100.0005%. The best penetration test result was 28.94% and flux was 64,184 ± 20,814 µg/cm2h. FTIR test results showed the presence of hydrogen interactions between chains.
