FAKTOR RISIKO KEJADIAN ANEMIA PADA PASIEN HEMODIALISIS KRONIK DENGAN TERAPI ERITROPOIETIN DI RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG PERIODE NOVEMBER 2023
Introduction: Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a pathological condition that affects kidney function progressively and is irreversible. One of the common complications that often occurs in CKD patients is anemia. Anemia in CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis can be caused by decreased endogenous erythropoietin (EPO) production, absolute and/or functional iron deficiency, and inflammation with increased hepcidin levels in hemodialysis patients. Risk factors for anemia in hemodialysis patients are the length of time undergoing hemodialysis, gender and age, diabetes mellitus, and nutritional status. Method: This research is an observational analysis study with a cross sectional design which aims to determine the factors that influence the incidence of anemia in hemodialysis patients at the Dr. Central General Hospital. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. Sampling was taken using the consecutive sampling technique, which is a sampling method that is carried out by taking subjects based on specific criteria set by the researcher during the research period until the minimum sample is met. Results: Hemodialysis patients with at Dr. Central General Hospital. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang from November – December 2023 found that the majority of patients were female (60,0%) and aged ≥ 45 years (65,7%) with an average age of 48.37 years. Most body mass index was non-obese (85,7%) and duration of hemodialysis < 3.5 years (60.0%). In this study, there were 16 hemodialysis patients with a history of DM (45.7%). In this study, the only factor that had a significant relationship with the incidence of anemia was history of DM (PR = 4,772 (IK95% 1,181 – 19,273); p value = 0,038). The risk factor that plays the most role in the incidence of anemia in hemosialysis patients is a history of DM (PR = 6,672 (IK95% 1,482 – 30,042; p = 0,013) followed by gender (PR = 4,035 (IK95% 1,130 – 14,412; p = 0,032). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between history of diabetes mellitus and gender with the incidence of anemia in chronic hemodialysis patients receiving erythropoietin therapy. The risk factor that plays the most role in the occurrence of anemia in chronic hemodialysis patients receiving erythropoietin therapy is a history of DM.
