This study aims to determine the grouping of districts/cities in South Sumatra based on the type of food production and similarity characteristics of each group formed. The method used is Hierarchical Cluster analysis with Single Linkage, Complete Linkage, Average Linkage and a measure of similarity validity, namely Silhouette Coefficient. The data analyzed is secondary data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics of South Sumatra. Research variables include rice production, secondary crop production, vegetable production, fruit production, meat production and fish production. All food production for 1 year is measured in tons. The results showed that the three methods of Cluster analysis resulted in 3 groups with different district memberships. The similarity validity coefficients for the Single Linkage, Complete Linkage, Average Linkage methods were 0.570, 0.417 and 0.543, respectively. The best grouping of districts/cities based on food production according to the Silhouette Coefficient results is the grouping result of the Single Linkage method. Single Linkage Clustering results obtained 3 groups, namely Cluster 1 consists of Ogan Komering Ulu, Ogan Komering Ilir, Muara Enim, Lahat, Musirawas, Musi Banyuasin, South Ogan Komering Ulu, East Ogan Komering Ulu, Empat Lawang, Pematang Abab Lematang Ilir, North Musirawas, Palembang, Prabumulih, Pagar Alam, Lubuk Linggau. Cluster 2 consists of Banyuasin. Cluster 3 consists of Ogan Ilir. The similarity character of districts/cities in Cluster 1 is that they have a low average food production of 242,641.02 tons, Cluster 2 has the highest average food production of 1,333,316.32 tons and for Cluster 3 has a medium average food production with a value of 591,538.33 tons.
