MODEL REGRESI DATA PANEL ANGKA PARTISIPASI PENDIDIKAN TINGGI BERDASARKAN ANGKA PARTISIPASI SEKOLAH DAN ANGKA PARTISIPASI KASAR TAHUN 2018-2021 DI INDONESIA
Higher education participation rate is an indicator used to measure the percentage of the population within a certain age group who are pursuing higher education during a specific period. The higher education enrollment rate can be measured through the school enrollment rate (APS) for the age group of 19-23 years and the gross enrollment rate (APK) for higher education. The purpose of this research is to obtain a panel data regression model for higher education enrollment rate and identify the factor influencing the higher education enrollment rate based on the best panel data regression model. The research employs a panel data regression method, consisting of cross section data representing the 34 provincies in Indonesia and time series data covering the years 2018 to 2021. The variables used in this research include the percentage of the poor population, per capita Gross Regional Domestic Product, average length of schooling, the number of higher education institutions, the total population, and the ratios of students to lecturers. The data used id secondary data obtained from the Centeral Statistics Agency of the Republic of Indonesia. The best model chosen is Random Effect Model. The estimastion results indicate that the variables of the percentage of the poor population (X_1) and the ratios of student to lecturers (X_6) significantly affect the APS with the model Y ̂_it=23,58+u_i+0,21X_(1it )+0,09X_6it, and the variables of the average length of schooling (X_3) significantly affect the APK with the model Y ̂_it=9,18+u_i+2,88X_(3it ). The Random Effect Model (REM) is also able to explain APS of 9,1% and APK of 16,1%.
