PENENTUAN INDEKS PREBIOTIK TEPUNG MAGGOT BSF TERHADAP Lactobacillus bulgaricus DALAM MENGHAMBAT Escherichia coli SECARA IN VITRO
BSF maggots are the larvae of the fly Hermetia illucens L. BSF maggot flour has a very high animal protein content, besides that BSF maggot flour also contains carbohydrates, amino acids, chitin and Antimircobial peptide (AMP). This research aims to determine the effect, index and activity values that can determine the potential of BSF maggot flour as a prebiotic agent using L. bulgaricus Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB) as a probiotics in inhibiting the growth of the pathogenic bacteria E. coli. Total Plate Count (TPC) is a method used to test the effects, indices and activity of prebiotics in inhibiting the growth of E. coli. The test results for organoleptic characterization, foreign matter, degree of fineness, and water content of BSF maggot flour have met the requirements of SNI 01-3751-2018, but the ash content test has not met the requirements of SNI 01-3751-2018. The prebiotic effect value obtained was 0.465. The prebiotic index value obtained was 1.86. The resulting prebiotic activity value was positive at 0.84, indicated by L. bulgaricus bacteria growing more on the BSF maggot flour sample medium than on the NH_4 Cl medium. The results of data analysis using SPSS 25.0 obtained significant values (Sig.>0.05) and (Sig.(2-tailed)
