Introduction: Gallstone, known as cholelithiasis, occurs within the gallbladder (cholecystolithiasis), common bile duct (choledocholithiasis), or both. Many risk factors influence the occurrence of cholelithiasis, including Body Mass Index (BMI) and lipid profile levels. BMI is often associated with an individual's lipid profile. In the obesity group, total cholesterol levels, LDL levels, and triglyceride levels were found to be higher compared to the normal group. Conversely, HDL levels were found to be lower in the obesity group compared to the normal group. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between Body Mass Index (BMI) and lipid profile among patients with cholelithiasis at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital in Palembang on 2021 to 2022. Method: This study adopts an analytical observational design with a crosssectional approach. Data were obtained from secondary data based, specifically medical records, employing a consecutive sampling technique, resulting in a sample size of 36 participants meeting inclusion and exclusion criteria. Statistical analysis was conducted using IBM SPSS Statistics 29.0 for Windows. Results: Among cholelithiasis patients, there was no significant association between BMI and triglyceride levels (p-value = 0.722, p>0.05). However, a significant association was observed between BMI and HDL levels (p-value = 0.018, p0.05), as well as between BMI and total cholesterol levels (p-value = 0.364, p>0.05). Conclusion: In cholelithiasis patients, a significant association was observed between BMI and HDL levels. However, there were no significant associations between BMI and triglyceride, LDL, and total cholesterol levels.
