This research was conducted with the aim of finding out how children's character plays in the role of parents in shaping the character of children aged 5-6 years in Sako Raya Palembang. The benefit of this research is to understand how good character is implemented in early childhood as well as developing the role of parents in treat children with good behavior. The research method used is qualitative research with descriptive methods with data collection techniques in the stages of interview, observation and documentation. With the subject of 2 different children, subject 1 is a 5 year old child, subject 2 is a 6 year old child. Based on the results of the research analysis, it was found that the role of parents is very important for young children to build the character of honesty, responsibility and discipline, the role of parents also influences the life of children to carry themselves, therefore the importance of open communication between parents and children . It can be concluded that parents act as models for children whose aim is to provide protection, guidance and support to children in carrying out aspects of life.
