EFEK PAPARAN SODIUM FLUORIDA TERHADAP KADAR GULA DARAH MENCIT
Introduction: Consumable water hygiene problems related to fluoride contamination are becoming an important issue in Indonesia. Indonesia's geographical location has many active mountains causes a lot of fluoride content in mountain air which is often used for consumable water. Fluoride has several impacts on health, one of which is the level effect of blood sugar. The research that has been carried out has not shown consistent results, then Therefore, this study aims to find out more about the effects of sodium fluoride exposure control blood sugar levels using test animals. Method: The type of research carried out was quasi experimental in vivo using a post-test only control group design. Research subjects used experimental animals. There were 16 male C57BL/6 strain mice (Mus musculus) aged 8–10 weeks and has a body weight of 20–40 grams. Mice (Mus musculus) strain C57BL/6 were divided into 4 groups, namely the group without fluoride (K1), the group given fluoride 2.5 mg/L (K2), the group given 5 mg/L fluoride (K3), and the group given fluoride 10 mg/L (K4). Fluoride is given by mixing it with consumable water given fluoride at a certain dose and given ad libitum for 8 weeks. Results: The results of the study show the average value of blood sugar levels for each minute on variables K1, K2, K3 and K4 respectively were 92.75 ± 32.22 mg/dl, 169.25 ± 18.02 mg/dl, 176 ± 22.13 mg/dl, and 207.75 ± 10.04 mg/dl. Conclusion: Results of analysis of sodium fluoride given at doses of 2.5mg/l, 5mg/l, 10mg/l has an effect on increasing blood sugar levels in mice compared to control group.
