PREVALENSI DAN KARAKTERISTIK PASIEN PROLAPS UTERI DI RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG TAHUN 2020 – 2022
Background. Uterine prolapse is the herniation of the uterus from its natural anatomy position. The global prevalence of uterine prolapse ranges from 2 to 20%. Prolapse is a common condition with a multifactorial etiology. The life expectancy of women in Indonesia is increasing. Based on this data, the number of elderly women is expected to continue rising, raising concerns about an increase in uterine prolapse cases. This study aims to identify the prevalence and characteristics of uterine prolapse patients at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang General Hospital. Method. This study is a descriptive observational research with a cross-sectional study design using a total sampling method. The data utilized are secondary data in the form of medical records of uterine prolapse patients at the Medical Record Installation of Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang General Hospital. Results. There were 119 uterine prolapse patients (7.28%). This study examined 101 samples, revealing that the majority of uterine prolapse patients were aged >60 years (53.5%), worked as housewives (79.2%), had multiparity (51.5%), experienced vaginal deliveries (99%), had a BMI of 18.5–22.9 (45.5%), were postmenopausal (87.1%), complained of a palpable lump from the birth canal (93.1%), presented with stage 4 prolapse (62.4%), and underwent operative treatment in the form of total vaginal hysterectomy (TVH) (79.2%). Conclusion. The prevalence of uterine prolapse at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang General Hospital from 2020 to 2022 was 7.28% of patients in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department. The majority of uterine prolapse patients were aged >60 years, employed as homemakers, multiparous, had vaginal deliveries, BMI 18.5 – 22.9, already in menopause, with the main complaint of palpable bulge from the birth canal, degree 4, and underwent operative treatment in the form of total vaginal hysterectomy (TVH).
