Introduction: Healthcare Associated Infections (HAIs) are infections that patients get during the treatment period not only in hospitals, but also other health care facilities, provided that the patient is not infected or in the incubation period upon admission. Patient-related factors include age, comorbidities, especially those causing immunosuppression, length of hospital stay, and exposure to invasive devices and procedures. Hospital-acquired infections are a significant cause of avoidable morbidity and mortality. The purpose of this study was to determine the epidemiological characteristics of Healthcare Associated Infections (HAIs) in the inpatient installation of RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin. Method: This study used a cross-sectional observational descriptive method. Sampling is carried out by ¬total sampling. The number of samples was 55 HAIs patients who meet the inclusion criteria and did not meet the exclusion criteria. Data are analyzed descriptively, and presented in tabels and narratives Results: HAIs patients in the inpatient installation of RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin were predominantly aged 18-44 years (43.6%), women (72.7%), with a history of previous surgery (85.5%), users of IV lines (42.5%). In the diagnostic process, the majority utilized pus and tissue specimens (54.5%), with Acinetobacter baumannii being the most prevalent bacteria (20.7%). The most frequently used antimicrobial agent is the third-generation cephalosporin antibiotics (36.8%). Conclusion: HAIs in the inpatient installation of RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin occur more frequently in the 18-44 age group, with the most common types of HAIs being Surgical Site Infections (SSI) and predominantly affecting females. The most use of invasive devices is IV line (42.5%). In the diagnostic process, pus and tissue specimens are more commonly utilized, revealing the presence of Acinetobacter baumannii bacteria. The most frequently used antimicrobial agent is the third-generation cephalosporin antibiotics.
