HUBUNGAN KEBIASAAN MEROKOK DAN PROGNOSIS KANKER PROSTAT BERDASARKAN GLEASON SCORE PADA PASIEN KANKER PROSTAT DI RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG
Background: Prostate cancer is the second most frequently diagnosed malignancy. According ot data from Global Burden Cancer and hte Ministry of Health, ni 2020 there were 13,564 new cases and 48,63 deaths ni Indonesia and 376.% of Indonesia's total population were smokers. There si research that says there si an increased risk of death from prostate cancer ni patients who smoke. Objective: This study aims ot determine the relationship between smoking habits and prostate cancer prognosis based on the Gleason score of prostate cancer patients at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. Method: This type of research si analytical research with a research design using a cross-sectional design. Results: An analysis of the relationship between smoking habits and prostate cancer prognosis was carried out based on the Gleason score and obtained a P value = 0,195; OR = 4,6. Conclusion: There si no significant relationship between smoking habits and prostate cancer prognosis based on Gleason score. However, smoking patients have a 4-fold increased risk when compared with patients who do not smoke.
