Background. Ovarian cancer is the seventh leading cause of cancer and the eighth most common cause of cancer death in women worldwide. Epithelial ovarian cancer is one of the second-leading causes of death from gynecologic cancer. 90% of ovarian cancer cases originate from epithelial cells. Some risk factors that increase the occurrence of ovarian cancer include age, body mass index, family history, and number of parities. The process of ovarian cancer development is generally not realized by the patient because complaints do not accompany it, so most patients come with an advanced stage-diagnosed condition. Therefore, ovarian cancer is known as The Silent Killer. Methods. This study is a descriptive observational study using medical record data. The sample population was patients with epithelial ovarian cancer at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang Hospital from January 2020–September 2023. The things recorded in this study include age, BMI, family history, stage, and number of parities. Patients who met the inclusion criteria totaled 153 patients. Results. Based on the study's results, the prevalence of epithelial ovarian cancer in the January 2020–September 2023 period was 21.2%. The distribution of epithelial ovarian cancer patients mainly was aged 45–59 years (pre-elderly) (51%), with an average BMI of 18.5–22.9 kg/m2 (57.5%), the majority at stage IIIC (42.5%), having no family history (98.7%), and nulliparity (32.7%).
